When I saw this set I didn't really know what to expect. "Lego Education" – now that's not something you see every day at your local toy store.
What I do know though is: I like big plates. I think they are excellent bases for building all kinds of scenes. Getting a set of plenty such big ones appealed to me, so I took the opportunity and bought it.
Having received it, I do like it, especially the two largest sizes. I then compared the price (around 400 SEK / €40) the one of individual pieces – and it turned out to be pretty much on par. So it wasn't a bad deal.
The fact that thse plates all are real plates, not base plates, and can have pieces attached both on top and below, enables me to do much more interesting builds.
Would I recommend it? Yes. But you of course need to, like me, enjoy big plates and want more of them. If you find that the only proper way of building is in infinite SNOT-loops, well, maybe this isn't for you.
